Two-Level Leadership Academy for Your Veteran Leaders and Emerging Leaders
The Women’s College Basketball Leadership Academy provides two distinct levels of leadership training depending on where your players are on their leadership journey.
VETERAN LEADERS
VETERAN LEADERS is designed for your experienced players who you need strong and vocal leadership from for this summer and the upcoming 2025/26 season.
These players are likely your team captains or core team leaders who already lead themselves effectively and now you need them to step up and lead the team. This group is usually made up of juniors and seniors who are solid Leaders by Example and now need to become effective Vocal Leaders for your team to reach its full potential.
VETERAN LEADERS RECEIVE:
• 5 inspiring and interactive workshops on how to become a respected Vocal Team Leader
• A comprehensive 360 Evaluation to pinpoint their leadership strengths and areas for improvement
• A customized Leadership Development Plan to develop and improve their personal leadership skills
• A copy of the Team Captain’s Leadership Manual to apply the ideas and go deeper into the topics
• Weekly tips, tools, and techniques to build your team’s culture and improve your chemistry
• Proven ideas from Jeff Janssen who has worked with 36 National Championship teams from all sports
• Strategies and support from other women’s basketball captains/leaders from across the country
EMERGING LEADERS
EMERGING LEADERS is designed for your younger players who are still learning how to lead themselves effectively.
These players have leadership potential but need to demonstrate better commitment, composure, confidence, consistency, and/or character to earn their teammates’ and coaches’ respect and trust. They are your sophomores and juniors (and advanced freshmen) who are a year or two away from potentially becoming a team captain or core team leader.
EMERGING LEADERS RECEIVE:
• 5 inspiring and interactive workshops on how to become a respected Leader by Example
• A copy of the Team Captain’s Leadership Manual to apply the ideas and go deeper into the topics
• Weekly tips, tools, and techniques to develop their commitment, composure, character, and confidence
• Proven ideas from Jeff Janssen who has worked with 36 National Championship teams from all sports
• Strategies and support from other women’s basketball players from across the country
Comprehensive 360-Degree Leadership Report and Customized Leadership Development Plan for Each Veteran Leader
As part of the VETERAN LEADERS program, each of your leaders will receive a comprehensive 360-Degree Leadership Evaluation and Report to pinpoint their strengths and highlight their areas for improvement. With Jeff's guidance, each player will also create a personalized Leadership Development Plan to maximize their strengths and improve their weaknesses throughout the summer and fall.
The 360 is without a doubt our most powerful leadership development tool - so be sure you only enroll players in the VETERAN LEADERS program who have a solid level of respect from their teammates and coaches. Practical Weekly Assignments to Connect with Coaches and Build Your Team's Culture Throughout the Summer

Leaders from both levels will be given practical leadership development assignments each week to apply the skills to their leadership and your team's summer pick-up games and workouts.
Further, your leaders will connect with you and your coaching staff regularly to talk about how the leadership principles and skills they’re learning apply directly to their leadership and your team.
Thus, not only will your players develop as leaders but they'll partner with you to build your team’s culture with your newcomers and any transfers throughout the summer as well.
Summer Leadership Academy Sunday Nights with Workshops Being Recorded
This summer intensive online Leadership Academy will occur live on Sunday nights at 8:30 pm eastern. Your leaders will meet weekly with Jeff Janssen for 50-60 minutes to learn valuable leadership skills. They can join live each week (highly recommended) - or if they need to miss some weeks the classes will be recorded so they can view them later.
